When the first case of Coronavirus landed onto our shores, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar warned us all of the pain and heartache we’d endure in the coming weeks and months. He wasn’t wrong. Before we all knew it, we were told to stay at home, to support our frontline staff and protect vulnerable people. I felt completely helpless, but I knew I wanted to help.
I was so eager to get StaySafe developed from the moment my girlfriend Emma was called onto the frontline in Tullamore Hospital. Her bravery, determination and selflessness inspires me every day. Emma’s sister Michelle also works the frontline in Dublin, self-sacrificing her own health every day. Our frontline staff are real life superheroes – we can never forget that.
StaySafe Masks is my way to help protect my family and your family, my friends and your friends, my colleagues and your colleagues. The Coronavirus put a lot of things into perspective to me. Things that were important back in January now seem very insignificant.
My background is in sales strategy, retail accounts, and I’ve a keen interest in social media. I worked with John and Ivan at TNS, where I played a key part in developing brands like Beats By Dre, Gopro, Apple and Urbanista in key European retailers including Dixons Carphone, Argos, John Lewis and Harrods to name a few. Getting involved with StaySafe Masks is my way of making a difference, from home.
