Why we set up a business to supply PPE and Face Masks.
Supplying Face Mask to where they are needed.
Most people don’t expect to start a business in the middle of a pandemic, but sometimes you have to play the hand you’re given. Early in 2020, as Covid-19 started to spread and its effects became clear, we had one simple goal: to acquire and distribute personal protective equipment like face masks, getting them quickly and efficiently into the hands of people who needed them most.
We have had first-hand experience of the effects of Covid-19.
We had directly experienced first-hand some of the difficulties that nursing homes and hospitals were having in getting enough protective equipment they needed to keep themselves and patients as safe and healthy as possible. It was tough to watch loved ones and family members struggle with this situation.
So the five of us, John, Ivan, Mark, Ed and Alan, pooled our years of experience in consumer goods, retail sales, logistics and supply chain management, and we tapped into long-established business connections to global suppliers in the Far East. Our original plan was to secure a much-needed supply of vital equipment from those manufacturers.
But like so many things during the Covid-19 crisis, the situation was changing rapidly. It soon became clear to us that those manufacturing plants were struggling to cope with the unprecedented demand coming from all parts of the globe. We needed another source of equipment.
That’s when we decided to partner with an equipment manufacturing company that, like us, is based in Ireland. Our partner has a 30-year track record as a producer of face masks made to the highest European and US quality standards.
Our plan to fight this pandemic and supply low-cost PPE to where it’s needed.
In May 2020, we invested in brand-new production capacity that would give us the oversight and control we needed to ensure quality and guarantee supply. This additional manufacturing capacity means we’re not taking away from the supply of protective equipment into frontline healthcare workers.
What’s become clear to us is that face masks aren’t just essential equipment for medical staff, they’re for everyone. Wearing a face mask isn’t just about protecting ourselves, but about protecting others. Research has shown that masks can be highly effective in helping to reduce the infection rate of the virus, and many countries are already recommending them for their citizens. They’re going to be part of all our lives for the foreseeable future.
Were suppliers of protective Face Masks to Ireland and the United Kingdom.
That’s why we launched StaySafe Masks, a consumer-focused face mask that’s available to buy for everyday use. We sell directly to the public online at www.mystaysafe.ie, and soon you’ll be able to buy the masks in supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations across Ireland, the UK and internationally. We also supply bulk orders to business customers through our agent network.
